Don't Quit

Today's message comes from Lukev 8 and i hope this message will be an encouragement to you today.The title of my message is DON'T QUIT.And i'm going to read to you from Luke8:11-15;we call this,''THE PARABLE OF THE SOWER'',It's a story that Jesus Christ is teaching to help us understand some truth.In verse 11 it says,''Now the parable is this ;the seed is the word of God.verse 12,those by the way side are they that hear;then cometh thev devil and taketh away the word out of their hearts lest they believe and be saved.verse13,They on the rock are they which when they hear receive the word with joy and those have no root ,which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.KJV                                                                                          So in this parable Jesus is talking about four different types of ground,four different places where seed was to be sown.People will take seed and they cast it unto the ground and the seed takes up root in the soil and begins to grow a plant.The first soil or the first place that the seed is sown is by the way side that's next to the road side and the Bible says that this way side represents the people who hears the word of God but they don't believe it and the devil comes and take away that which was sown in their heart,much like a bird would come and take the seed and eat it.the second type of ground was rocky or stony ground and in this place the seed took root,it took hold and a plant sprung up but it didn't last why,well God is teaching us about people and he is saying that these people didn't grow strong and they didn't grow deep root and become strong and stand the temptations of the test of time because when trouble came they run away,They quit.In verse 14,it says,''And that  which fell among thorns are they, which when they have heard,go forth ,and are chocked with cares and riches and pleasures this life and bring no fruit to perfection.                                                                      so the third ground is a place where there are weeds and thorns and in this ground the seed takes root and it begins to grow a plant but before long the weeds and the thorns choke out the plant.Those weeds and thorns represent the cares and the riches of the world that tend to choke out our christian life.Many of people have gone to church or maybe someone came to their house and told them the truth about the bible and they believed and they wanted to serve God and they got excited about the things of God.But today they are no longer serving God or maybe they are serving God a little bit but the cares and the riches of this world at some point became more important to them than the things of God.And in verse 15,it says,''But that on the good ground are they ,which in an honest and good heart ,having heard the word,keep it ,and bring forth fruit with patience.kjv
